Turkish Dumplings (Mantı)

  • Ingredients:
    • For the dough:
      • 2 cups all-purpose flour
      • 1 egg
      • Water (as needed)
    • For the filling:
      • 200g ground beef or lamb
      • 1 onion, finely chopped
      • Salt, pepper, paprika
    • For the sauce:
      • 1 cup yogurt
      • 2 cloves garlic, minced
      • 2 tablespoons butter
      • Mint leaves (for garnish)
  • Instructions:
    1. Prepare the dough by mixing flour, egg, and water until a firm dough forms. Roll out thinly and cut into small squares.
    2. Mix ground meat, onion, salt, pepper, and paprika for the filling. Place a small amount of filling in the center of each dough square and fold into a dumpling shape.
    3. Boil the dumplings in salted water until they float to the surface.
    4. Meanwhile, prepare the sauce by mixing yogurt and minced garlic.
    5. Melt butter in a pan and add mint leaves.
    6. Serve the cooked mantı with yogurt sauce and buttery mint mixture.
