Tarhana Çorbası (Tarhana Soup)
Ingredients:
- 1 cup tarhana mix
- 4 cups water or chicken broth
- 1 cup plain yogurt
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon dried mint
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
- In a bowl, mix the tarhana mix with water or chicken broth until well combined. Let it sit for about 10-15 minutes to soften.
- In a separate bowl, whisk the yogurt until smooth.
- In a large pot, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
- Pour the tarhana mixture into the pot and bring it to a gentle simmer, stirring constantly to prevent lumps from forming.
- Once the soup starts to thicken, reduce the heat to low and simmer for about 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Gradually add the whisked yogurt into the soup, stirring continuously until well incorporated.
- Season the soup with dried mint, salt, and pepper according to your taste preferences. Allow it to simmer for an additional 5 minutes.
- Remove the soup from the heat and let it cool slightly before serving.
